Itinerary
Your day begins very early in the morning with a departure from Nairobi, heading south through the Nairobi–Mombasa highway towards Amboseli. As the journey progresses, you will enjoy scenic views of the countryside, with glimpses of rural life and the open plains leading you closer to the park. After approximately four to five hours of driving, you will arrive at Amboseli National Park and begin your mid-morning game drive. This first game drive provides you with the chance to spot elephants crossing the plains, predators lounging in the grass, and the spectacular sight of Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the background if the skies are clear.
Around midday, you will take a break for lunch, which may either be enjoyed at one of the lodges within the park or as a packed picnic in one of the designated picnic sites, allowing you to relax while surrounded by the natural beauty of Amboseli. After lunch, the adventure continues with an afternoon game drive that takes you deeper into the park’s marshlands, woodlands, and open savannah. This is a perfect opportunity to witness more wildlife interactions, from hippos wallowing in the swamps to flocks of flamingos and other bird species feeding in the wetlands.
In the late afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Nairobi. As you drive out of the park, you may still encounter wildlife along the way, offering final moments to capture Amboseli’s magic. You will arrive in Nairobi in the evening, marking the end of a short but fulfilling safari to one of Kenya’s most treasured parks.
