Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt to rest at the hotel or enjoy an optional city excursion such as visiting the Giraffe Centre or Karen Blixen Museum. After breakfast, you will depart Nairobi and drive north through the lush central highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations with scenic views of Mount Kenya. You will arrive in Samburu in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in this semi-arid reserve famous for its unique wildlife species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk, collectively known as the “Samburu Special Five.” Dinner and overnight will be in Samburu.
Today you will spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is home to elephants, big cats such as lions and leopards, and over 450 bird species. Your guide will help you spot the wildlife that thrives in this unique ecosystem along the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is the lifeline of the park. Dinner and overnight will be at your Samburu lodge or camp.
After breakfast proceeds on a game drive in Lake Nakuru Park, known for its prolific birdlife including flamingos. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shorelineLater drive to Amboseli national park which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Arriving late evening for dinner and overnight at camp or Lodgewell as the last two remaining northern white rhinos. You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary within the conservancy. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge in Ol Pejeta.
After breakfast, you will drive towards the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive around the park, famous for its flocks of flamingos along the lake shores, as well as rhinos, lions, Rothschild’s giraffes, and numerous bird species. Dinner and overnight will be in Nakuru.
Following breakfast, you will depart Nakuru and drive across the Rift Valley plains towards the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation. In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the expansive Mara plains, where you may spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and many other species. Dinner and overnight will be in the Masai Mara.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drives in the Masai Mara with a picnic lunch in the reserve or morning and afternoon drives. The reserve is home to the “Big Five” and an abundance of other wildlife. Between July and October, you may also witness the Great Migration, one of the most spectacular wildlife events in the world. Dinner and overnight will be in the Masai Mara.
After breakfast, you will check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in time for your afternoon flight to Mombasa. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your beach resort. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax on the beach or enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Dinner and overnight will be in Mombasa.
This day is dedicated to leisure at the beautiful beaches of Mombasa. You may choose to simply relax by the ocean or take part in optional activities such as visiting the historic Fort Jesus, exploring Mombasa Old Town, or enjoying a boat excursion in the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight will be in Mombasa.
After breakfast, you will check out of your beach resort and be transferred to Moi International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your safari and beach holiday.
