Itinerary Detail

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver-guide and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax at the hotel after your long flight or take an optional excursion within Nairobi such as visiting the Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen Museum, or enjoying a short city tour. Dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel or at a local restaurant, after which you will retire for the night. Accommodation will be in Nairobi on a bed and breakfast basis.

After breakfast, you will set off on a scenic drive heading north to Samburu National Reserve. The journey takes you through diverse landscapes, including fertile farmlands and the dramatic scenery of the Rift Valley before entering the semi-arid wilderness of Samburu. In the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive in Samburu, a reserve renowned for its unique wildlife such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and the long-necked gerenuk, species that are rarely seen in other parts of Kenya. After an exciting afternoon in the wild, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

You will begin the day with an early morning game drive in Samburu to catch predators and other animals as they start their day, followed by breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, you will depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a private reserve located in Laikipia. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will set out on a game drive within the conservancy, which is famous for its conservation efforts and home to both black and white rhinos, including the last two surviving northern white rhinos. A visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary offers a chance to learn about rescued primates and their stories. As evening approaches, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a journey that takes you through the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is widely known for its rhino population, both black and white, and for being a birdwatcher’s paradise, hosting pelicans, cormorants, and sometimes flamingos along its shores. The park also harbors giraffes, buffalo, lions, and leopards, making it a rich and rewarding safari stop. As the sun sets over the lake, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
